Marie Pidancet, founder and artistic director of Louise Misha, shares a few words in a short Q&A about her inspirations and her delicate, thoughtful world.

If you were…

…A Journey?

India holds a special place in my heart. I’m fortunate to visit often, and there I cultivate my love for flowers and color, which are so central to the local culture. I also value the country’s unique craftsmanship, showcased in our collections, especially through collaborations with Saheli Women, true celebrations of artisanal work.

…A Meeting?

The one with Claire! From the moment we met at age 12, we formed a strong bond. It’s a true blessing to have stayed so close all these years—and an even bigger one to have a friend as a business partner!

We actually share the story of how we met and started working together in a podcast episode, which you can listen to here.

…An Inspiring Woman?

Without hesitation, my great-grandmother Louise—the woman who gave her name to our Maison. A passionate traveling theater artist, she journeyed across the world—from Russia to Egypt, and England in between—living off her art, following her passions, and embracing love wherever it led her. A free-spirited, daring, and profoundly inspiring woman, her story has left a lasting mark on me, and her bohemian spirit continues to shine through the world of Louise Misha.

…A Workplace?

The one we have now: a house with a garden and plenty of character—the perfect setting for Louise Misha.

…A Passion?

From a very young age, I was captivated by color. My father, who was passionate about painting, introduced me to the works of many artists who remain major inspirations for me today—Matisse, Schiele, Van Dongen, and more. I love surrounding myself with color, whether in clothing or décor, and I truly feel its impact on mood: it brings a touch of magic to everyday life.

…A Mantra?

My mantra is that anything is possible and that you should never put limits on yourself.

…A Childhood Memory?

I remember spending hours as a child imagining clothes and creating them out of paper. It’s a memory I hold dear, because at its heart, Louise Misha is a childhood dream come true.
